i'd have thought - though, i could be horribly misguided - that most people who've got places probably arent members, so it's maybe not worth it... or maybe i've just missed something...

It's essentially a moneymaking scam - a lot people who apply to OxBridge would kill to get in, so £100 is nothing...

From what I've heard from others, it offers nothing in addition to freely available information from Colleges, Departments and the good old free access Internet. The rest of the stuff it offers is common sense.

Of course, if you have no common sense and lack the ability to use the computer and/or telephine, it might be worth it

Last year access to this info was free. They have just decided to start charging for it. However, £100 is much to high a price. They are taking advantage of people's desperation to get in and it severly disadvantages poor applicants who have no access to this sort of information.

I believe that this is totally iniquitous since they didn't pay for the information. They asked people to give it freely to help others in the same situation. Now they are trying to capitalise on it. Admittedely it was their idea and they have set up the database and website so they do deserve some payment but £100 is a rip off. They should charge a modest amount to cover the work that they have put in.

If you need a website with tips to get in to Oxford, you'll have a tough time convincing the examiners that you are suitable for the course, and you'll have a tough time doing the course! So don't bother!

Just apply to Oxbridge if you want and think you can do it; if you don't get in, take that as a blessing in disguise -- it means that you wouldn't have enjoyed the course.

We have been warned about giving info to that website (or was it another similar website) about Cambridge interviews... So, I'd say don't bother. One of the guy from my sixth form got some "professional" help with his application. He got in, but failed his tripos at the end of the first year.
aren't those 2 different websites though

www.oxbridge-admissions.org - charges lots of money

www.oxbridge-admissions.org.uk - is free... or is that just me...
Thats digusting. I can afford it but wouldnt dream of getting it, its completly unfair to people who cant , im usually such a snob but this annoys the hell out of me bloody idiots!

Hmm good point.

As someone else has said, since this site is populated by members of Oxbridge anyway, any info you need you can get from us!

Yeah, and we'll only charge you £50

Don't sign up for it. Not only are pretty much all current students happy to help, but there's loads of info on the college websites too.

:s: I've noticed that's what happens to some people who got spoonfed their education.

yep, getting in to oxbridge is just the first test, some (not many) fail their first year exams too.
website
there are specific questions that are asked at Oxford and Cambridge interviews

Yeah, they have a list they choose from so you can just learn them all by rote  Um, no.

I got something from them in the post, they charged so much for re-drafting your personal statement. I think the whole course of £700, maybe it's run by a few people who think that everyone who applies to Cambridge is rich :O
