    Why would he get wound up if they are his mates? A stranger may invoke a different reaction.

    Some people don't mind the word 'fit'. Otherwise, I just find it being used to describe various celebrities/porn stars/random people on street.

    But generally if people were to compliment my hypothetical girlfriend in any other way I wouldn't mind.
