The end in the book was so much more epic

All the Snape stuff was absolutely perfect.

Voldemort's death was extremely underwhelming, but it was in the book anyway so can't really complain. I didn't like the fact that it was changed so that nobody else saw the death. And what was with certain people smashing into pieces when they died instead of just falling to the ground as a corpse?

The epilogue scene wasn't as cringe worthy as I thought it would be, so that was a pleasant surprise.

Overall though, definitely the best of the eight films and a brilliant finale to the series.

I confess myself somewhat disappointed. Although maybe that's just due to the sadness at it being the end? :dontknow:

I didn't like the death scene at all.

Totally, totally agree with this. I wanted the dialogue between Harry and Voldemort, and I wanted them to be circling each other like they were in the book. And to be honest, I found *certain people* smashing into pieces annoying as opposed to dramatic. I think maybe part of my disappointment with the film is due to me having such unreasonably high expectations, so...

My mum thought the same... She even said to me "I thought dumbledore was dead"

Given, she hasn't read the books, ^_^
This guy was absolutely retarded; every time he saw someone old/with a beard he HAD to ask if it was Dumbledore! Aberforth too. He even had to comment out loud to inform everyone that YES; Harry IS still alive when Hagrid was holding him in the courtyard!

Sounds like the kind of person you really don't want in the cinema, when I went yesterday I had a group of 15 year olds whooping and clapping when certain scenes came on the screen. A lady right next to me decided to talk through the final few scenes of the film as well, was not very happy as wanted to see how they'd done the conclusion.

-___-. People like that should only be allowed to watch films in the confinement of their own homes.

The film was brilliant but I agree they could have spent longer on Molly-Bellatrix duel scene.I loved the part when McGonagall said' BOOM.' in such a deep voice.I found the part with Snape being attacked really emotional and brilliantly shot, and generally throughout the clarity was fantastic.Oh,and the dead Voldemort baby esque thing in 'Kings Cross' was horrible but in the right way.I don't know if anyone will agree but personally I didnt like that Bellatrix and Voldemort bursting into little fluttering pieces,I would have preferred them to hit the ground,it gives a sense of finality more than the pieces idea, but that's my personal opinion.

Bit of a mini essay there, sorry, restrained myself :P

:yep: agreed. (I wanted them to properly you know, hit the ground and then the camera show them dead, and then zoom out and it's like they're really, really gone forever sort of air of finality to it...rather than just sort of randomly explode?)

This was probably the best film for McGonagall's speaking roles too, such lines!

Definitely, McGonagall surprised all of us haha! The Voldemort thing was exactly what I thought It'd look like . Yeah, they did that for 3D, and it wasn't worth it, wasn't that special!

Glad you agree,my friends and I had a discussion(bordering on argument) about those particular deaths.I remember in that part of the book, they said they moved Voldemort's body to a side chamber away from the rest of the dead, and I liked that.Still, didn't ruin the film at all.

This is why I'm in two minds about seeing it - the more they differ from the books - especially when it would have been easy to follow the book but for some stupid reason they decide to make up random scenes like the Burrow attack in the sixth film  - the more I hate them!

The movie was good but the ending was disappointing. I loved the duel in the book but not in the movie. In the movie it was so dull that I was thinking all the way through "do they know they have won or not? Why aren't they happy?"
The epilogue was weird as well because they still looked like teenagers. I was waiting for Draco and Harry to nod at each other but it wasn't there.

So most parts that I liked to see in the movie wasn't there.

Aww. he was probably getting excitable.

We had a girl who burst out into tears and her friend, in her loudest voice possible, shouted out: "oh shut up!!!"... She got booed by the whole theatre! Lol

LOL! It's either they have no idea what the film's about so they decide to make stupid comments, or it's the other way round and they know too much.

At least that's how it's been since Order of the Phoenix haha.

Hmm I thought that was about her and Lupin being married, I think it's that in the book!

    Also, Alan Rickman was fantastic
But before she says "my husband the joker" (I think, its been a while), which implies that they are already married and everyone knows...

    Anyway...

Ok, I must admit, it was OK, but they left teensy details out that pissed me off... i.e in the book, Crabbe's Fiendfyre destroyed the Diadem, however in the movie it was the basilisk fang, not much emphasis was put on Molly's duel with Bellatrix, Harry and Voldemort's duel occurred in the Great Hall however in the film it was the courtyard, Ollivander had no idea what the Deathly Hallows were in the book, but in the film he explained them to Harry, in the book, the contents of Bellatrix's vault kept replicating and didn't stop, unlike the movie, there was nothing about Harry and Voldemort jumping off a cliff . I also wanted a longer McGonagall-Snape duel... I don't know... do y'all agree?
Basilisk fang - to make it more obvious for everyone watching. Tbf I don't remember what happenned in the book but the whole point was horcruxes couldn't be destroyed by normal spells.

Molly's duel was short but sweet - what more did you want? They had to fit a lot in.. Plus if it had been made longer it would've just been more of the same sort of stuff.

Courtyard vs. Great Hall seems like nitpicking tbh....

The contents of bellatrix's vault did keep replicating in the film as well...

Cliff thing yeah was just added for entertainment value but fair enough if you didn't like it, I thought it was pretty pointless as well.

And I agree about the mcgonagall-snape duel. But still, mcgonagall was pretty badass! I loved it!

Given that I'm still on the second film it's gonna be something like 2020 before I see this.
