Craving a cigarette and I don't even smoke. watch

I smoked for the first time a couple of months ago (while drunk), and quite enjoyed it at the time. Having never really wanted to smoke and a generally healthy person, I haven't done it since, but recently I really really feel like I want one. More so when i'm walking behind someone smoking in the street and it reminds me what it smells like.

I never used to want to take it up, but then it's ridiculous that smoking a few one night 2 months ago would make me want to start now... so I suppose it must be psychological? Why would I suddenly crave them now though?

I had my first cigarette when I was 15, after years of protesting against them. I didn't like it that much at all, and didn't smoke at all after. I remember, though, lying in bed one night trying to sleep, and getting a sudden urge to smoke, it was so strong that I had to go and get something to eat to take my mind off it.
I've smoked a few since then (socially - yes I know, how pathetic) but I will never allow myself to get addicted to them. It's not worth it.

This is unusual, but I imagine it's a bit like wanting sex, but being a virgin. :dontknow:

This happened to me before I ever even tried one!

I had a stressful week and was really craving one to calm me down, weird

Wanting sex is innate? Not so for cigarettes.

Does anyone know how long can you suffer withdrawls from nicotine?

Not if you are asexual. :fyi: Basically, you can want something even if you've never or rarely had it. :yep: Wanting to try something new/different perhaps.

Thats not true... how can you crave something you've never tried. Its like saying "I'm craving dog meat from China, even though I've never tried it"

    Shut the **** up....

This is exactly how I started, random craving one day so I joined my smoking mate one day, enjoyed it and haven't stopped since. Don't think I'm addicted... I can give up anytime I want... I just don't want to... I quite enjoy the chats I have over a cigarette; he's become one of my best mates now. Weird.

Dunno if I wanna give up or not for uni...

Anyway, try it. A lot of people don't like it first time and are put off then... might as well try it once in your life

    Consider, second-hand smoke.
Pahh! Second hand smoke is nothing like smoking... its horrible in fact. Also, since when can you get addicted to second hand smoke?

I bought my first 2 packs a couple months ago, I still have like 30 left, I don't smoke them often, only when I feel stressed, the buzz feel good. Just try not to get addicted, some people are stupid enough.

Same thing happened to me, that's how started smoking in the first place, I used to go to all these places with older friends who'd smoke, and just by breathing it in I became addicted. I was on 10 a day for about a year, then stopped it 'cause it was mucking up my ability to play clarinet to the standard I wanted to. 2 1/2 years later I started again at a house party, and I've been smoking socially (nights out and stuff) since. Oops.
Bad thing is I'm athsmatic. But I totally get where you're coming from!

Maybe you have an addictive personality?

OP have you seen Shutter Island?
That movie made me want to smoke a 20 pack in 2 hours.
