A tattoo is a marking made by inserting indelible ink into the dermis layer of the skin to change the pigment for decorative or other reasons. Tattoos on humans are a type of decorative body modification.

Personally, I don't ever want to get one because I don't really see the point. I mean, surely if you get a big dragon or something on your back, you may live to regret it? I know a girl who got a tattoo of her boyfriend's name on her finger and now they've split up...

I'm all for people expressing themselves with piercings but tattoos, well, for me just seem a bit extreme.

Another thing is that I've noticed that people my age (eighteen) seem to be getting tattoos here, there and everywhere as if it's nothing more than having a different haircut.

    Discuss tattoos.

I think they're pointless if someone just gets a random picture or name. But I think they're pretty cool if someone gets one with a story behind it, that has meaning to the person or represents a significant time in their life.

Although personally, I think huge ones look terrible. :o: I remeber just seeing this guy get a massive tattoo on his back on Miami Ink and I thought I looked kind of tacky and awful. It was some simple design too that would have looked better smaller, IMO. But, he was happy. :p:

ah used to think they wir pointless if youre jus getting a random picture of somin tribal or an innocuous quote that doesnt apply but sounds gid.

now ah just think if people want tattoos, they can get watever they want. its their body afterall.

ah personally would get somin that means somin to me.

Well the ones with colour in them I don't think look so good. The ones that are just small, simple and black may be OK. Just the odd tattoo somewhere, don't try to show it off or anything. I personally wouldn't have a tattoo though.

I think they're nice if they have a proper meaning behind them. I just don't like it if someone's covered in them from head to toe.
