Since everyone's so keen, how about voting a "Study Help Member of the Month"?

Maybe you should make a thread for it?
I have a suspicion that this is what this thread is turning into rather than the 'best' mathematician. You'd be on my list.

Old age side effects. Plus I'm pretty sure there is a strong correlation between age and mathematical ability.

P.S. I'm pretty sure Mr M wasen't a grad student. If he was then how did he become a maths teacher?

P.P.S. This thread is annoying. Most mathematician on this forum, if you can call them that(proper word would be maths students), haven't done anything. Althought, some might be able to solve or prove stuff really quickly or get high grades. There is a difference between being locally right and globally right.
Isn't there a saying about numpties in glass houses?

Nor is DFranklin; I think by "grad" they mean that they've graduated, rather than that they're a grad student.

Admission: I kind of cheated in that I voted for more than one person in each category... I couldn't make my mind up.
I thought he was a grad student, but in computer science instead of maths.

Who you vote for? I was going to pick you, but then picked RichE.

And I voted for you. Particularly, since you like Bleach. Also, its if you live in a glass house you shouldn't throw stones.

Are you talking about this one? :p:
Or I could have sworn that the mods ran one... :ninja:

So you're familiar with the concept then XD.

On topic: I didn't vote. I don't think it's fair as they're all beyond my level.

there seems to be a flaw in this thread: is it based on current ability, or potential, or how frequently they help people with (often fairly basic) problems. because if its based on current ability, 'fraid unbounded wins the pre-uni section hands down; AFAIK, none of the others have anything like SSS in STEP. p.s. i love you lex

That is probably not true. Its just a lot of people don't post here. Also, how can he have SSS in STEP and not be at uni, unlesss he's done it at year 12, which would make no logical sense. As why wouldn't you just wait intill you are doing A levels to do STEP.

P.S. It seems everyone is voting for more than 1 people.

Also, its mostly based on help. DFranklin is probably the most helpful generally, then for A levels Mr M is.

He's at Cambridge in less than a week...
I suppose he should really be in the 'U\grad' section.

he definitely did STEP 1 in yr 12: he went to my school! while he may not be as sick as some IMOpros, of those "shortlisted" he is by far the best IMHO
