    This.

Usually they'll skip to halfway through the song, hear a scream/growl or whatever and turn it off within about 2 seconds and bang, whole genre is "****"
I genuinely dont like the sound of an electric guitar. So sorry, that rules a lot of rock out. Nor do I like growling or screaming or anything that sounds angry, brash or satanic.

I dated a metaller for a year and while I liked him, I just don't feel that his music excited me. I really tried.

I dont really find that I'm particularly lyrical with my music so it's more to do with the textures, sounds, tensions, rhythms and breadth of instruments for me. I like mainly non-mainstream electronic music, soul, old school rnb + hip-hop

What's your actual experience of Opera, apart from seeing the fat woman with the horned helmets in cartoons?
music class for 4 years with a set work being an opera ,a neighbour that would put it really loud & sing along with it completely out of tune,he had 2 CDs & played them all day long.I even considered buying him a new CD as the same songs over & over again where getting on my nerves,so no good memories really. The guy was supposed to be in a mental institute, but keeping him living beside us was cheaper. We moved now,so I m very relieved

But everyone likes different styles & I respect that :p: as long as they respect others, which he clearly didn t!

Can't believe all the hate for metal! It astounds me that even now, in this day and age, people still dismiss it all as meaningless noise.

All the haters should watch the following videos, proof that metal =/= just noise:

But to answer the question- I hate almost all commercial music. Talentless, autotuned crap, with the only selling point an annoyingly catchy tune.
Ditto :yep: I do love classic modern pop though. Angel Taylor, Anna Nalick, Kate Voegele etc. etc. But crap like Ke$ha, Gaga, commercialised R&B = ugh.

I love Within Temptation! I didn't know they were classified under metal!

I like people like Ingrid Michaelson, Regina Spektor, Kate Nash, Eliza Doolittle and Laura Marling, if they all count

EDIT: According to wikipedia, Regina Spektor and Kate Nash count as "anti-folk", whatever the hell that means, lol. I don't see how they sound much different form the others

    Snap.

Although I sometimes find myself guiltily enjoying it if there's a good bass line. Bass is good.

You probably mean screamo which is understandable but some heavy metal is good. Black Sabbath is classed as heavy metal but they're a pretty decent band
yes i can tolerate "normal" metal. although if i like a metal song i dont tend to search out similar things.

il have a look at black sabbath seeing as you mentioned it.
