yes i can tolerate "normal" metal. although if i like a metal song i dont tend to search out similar things.

il have a look at black sabbath seeing as you mentioned it.
They seem to be considered by a lot of people to be the best heavy metal band of all time and they have been around for 40 years. Take a look here, they're all good examples of Black Sabbath.

I totally agree with everything you said . The TSR music snobbery is unbelievable. I just laugh and shake my head at some of these arguments that arise from these sort of threads . It also amuses me how some of these people think they're so open minded, when really they're not  :facepalm2:
Erm.. weren't you and that other dude going on about how **** metal is.. omg snobbery.

Erm, if you saw my other posts in this thread, you would know that I said that only death metal I really dislike, but I don't mind other types of metal so much:

I'd say I'm generally not really that snobby about music. Well, at least not to the extent that some people are.

Dude I think I f--cking love you. YES! I have been telling people the exact thing for ages. HIP HOP IS NOT WHAT YOU HEAR ON THE RADIO. And I cannot sum Hip Hop up better than quoting from Illmatic.

It pains me to hear either of the two:
    a) Rap is rubbish because of Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Dizzee Rascal
    b) Lil Wayne (insert other lame example) is the best rapper alive

If I could write a manual on this stuff, believe me I would! haha
Ennit bro, Illmatic is pure genius and to think he was 19 when he wrote it. Your so right, people need to realise that the **** you just mentioned aint hiphop, its just some mainstream **** where the artists happen to attempt to rap, none of them have deep lyrics with a smooth flow.

And yeah, rating Lil Wayne as a rapper is utter ****, he don't rap, he can't rap and he never will. Believe. +rep bro.

RnB, Dubstep and Hiphop. Also that genre that is basically just noise, like a few beeps or something?

R n B, "pop" and dubstep. I used to like dubstep but it's just reached saturation point.

I cry every time I hear something like this. This thread has been bad for me...
Tell me about it. But this is TSR so it's hardly surprising. :o:

Tbh, there's good and bad in every genre. To find good hip hop you have to do a bit of searching, go underground, etc.

I couldn't stand Heavy/Thrash Metal at first but my taste got harder as I got older. I now relax to Pantera on a Sunday afternoon. :bandit:

Hip Hop with all its sub-genres is contemptible.

    Anyways...

I cant stand screamo and stuff like that. Gives me a guaranteed migraine every time, luckily I dont have brothers or sisters who listen to that or the company that make Nurofen would be billionaires.

I like all music, every genre has it's own musical talents. Korn aren't a favourite band of mine but I can see why they are popular due to the sheer talent they have.

Reggae. I just hate the druggy sound of the songs, as well as what its "culture" involves.

    Sorry...what?

I will refuse to believe that anyone who owns a soul does not like Reggae. It is far too soothing and i would assume you probably dont know much about it.

Can't believe all the hate for metal! It astounds me that even now, in this day and age, people still dismiss it all as meaningless noise.

All the haters should watch the following videos, proof that metal =/= just noise:

But to answer the question- I hate almost all commercial music. Talentless, autotuned crap, with the only selling point an annoyingly catchy tune.
Would you like Elis or Leaves Eyes by any chance? I have never met anyone in real life who says they like a bit of symphonic/opera metal lol

The only genre of music i have never overly liked is Ska.

I hate modern pop music but other than that every other genre of music has some amazing artists in and i think the people who dont like them havent given them a chance or seen them in their element.

I personally can't stand Jazz... I mean the slow stuff. Romantic, mushy.. abhorringly slow. I love the rowdy Jazz though.

Dubstep, sounds like a ****ing car alarm and judging by some of the people I've seen in clubs it is not possible to dance to it without looking like you're having an epileptic fit at 80 BPM.
