So I've been predicted ABB for A Level which I'm extremely happy about. But the thing is I only got ABCD at AS (I dropped one of the C's instead of the D, because of the fact I hated the subject.) I'm getting worried about it, I believe I am totally capable of getting these grades, mainly because I'm at the higher end of everyone of them and I'm doing resits. But I just wonder will uni's laugh at me as it's clearly quite a jump? :/ 3 of the uni's want ABB/BBB and two want 280 UCAS points so I think I have at least a chance of getting into two of them. I'm just worried, am I being too unrealistic?:/

(I'm hoping to apply to some of the following; Nottingham,Manchester,Kent,Readi ng, UEA, Leeds, Goldsmiths and possibly UCL, but that will mainly just because it's always been my dream to go there and I'd always have the dreaded what if despite it being very unrealistic)

No they won't dsmiss your application! I take it you'll be doing resits and stuff to bump your grades up. Lots of people do badly in AS and work their asses off to get better grades, so it's not just you! and you have got a few safe options there too, and with a good reference and ps, you should be fine

I applied to these three universities with the predicted grades of ABB and the received AS grades of ABCc. Not only did I get offers from all of them, I got AAB in my results this year.

It's totally possible, so don't worry! Just work hard on making your personal statement good (at the risk of sounding up myself, I had a very good PS) and hopefully you'll be fine. (Y)

Thanks for the advice! I think it's all these application nerves kicking in, I was confident a few weeks ago :/. My reference is good so I'm hoping now just to really get my PS up to scratch

You might even come out with better than that I was predicted AAAB and got AAAA. Spoke alot with one of the history of art lecturers at Cambridge and she said application to top schools was always a good idea if there was evidence of real interest and knowledge (providing you can fufil an offer obv) good luck
