I wished I could celebrate with all my friends, but it seems like I was the only one our of our 'circle' to get an unconditional offer from my firm choice, the rest are struggling to secure a place via clearing......... Lol not my fault; but it's kind of dampened my mood to party

There are some pictures somewhere on TSR of the parkwood houses inside I think. Yeah, it's like a village I love the idea of the student village, I couldn't deal with living in a big city like Birmingham or something!

I have a quesiton about arrivals actually. Having read the pack it seems to say "go to carpark near your accomodation, unload your stuff, move car and then collect your key". It then says to head to the sports place to register.. there's no mentionof actually going into my room? D: Is registration just a quick in and out, or are we meant to stay i n the area?

You pick up your keys from the reception of whichever accommodation you have, give them your name and they'll give you a key to your room. Then you get one of us lovely welcome helpers to carry your stuff into your room for you, and then head over to the sports center to register. When you get in the sports center, there'll be a queue depending on what time of the day it is. You need to bring your student finance forms and a form of ID so you can get your forms scanned as proof you attend University, and then pick up your student ID. Then you can mooch around the sports hall and check out some of the booths from campus watch and the sports center membership things, or go back to your room and get to socialising.

Ah, I sees. Join this one too: http://www.facebook.com/kentstudentlawsociety

Um, well, I'm 3rd year now...but, unless it's changed since I started, I went and collected my key and my dad stayed in the car. We unloaded everything, I got sorted and then I went with flatmates to do that stuff later, or possibly even the next day? They can't expect you to just leave your stuff outside your building :p: Do you know what accommodation you've got yet? 'Sports place'...sports centre or the pavilion?

Hey, do you know anything about insurance? Im taking some really expensive computer equipment and don't want it to be nicked. The most expensive is my desktop which will be staying in the room, not really bothered about my laptop.

Yeah, the student village bit sounds pretty cool. To be honest i love big cities, but i don't think it would have been the best choice for uni... and i kind of love the fact that Kent is surrounded by greenery.

Yeah, as Loz said, the pavilion is by the rugby fields and astroturf etc, which is to the side of Park Wood.

You're responsible for contents insurance. I took out insurance with a specialist student provider (http://www.cover4students.com/) and, from what I can remember, it was fairly inexpensive.
