yeah i wanna go columbia! i havent really had a look at the other universites but i just feel like columbia is calling my name lol. i think i could get used to the cost of living thing though, considering i live in london anyway. is ucl your first choice then?
It's likely to be if Warwick doesn't sway me on the open day, UCL's department is amazing.

Finally my teacher decides to send off my application. Still very worried I wrote a BM personal statement and applied for IMFB which is a computer science subject. Wouldn't be too surprised if I got rejected lol.
My personal statement is very Businessy aswell, and I've applied for IMFB, but I got a letter saying I will have a interview in due course, so hopfully you will too.
Also, I've been reading around and apparently only the first year is IT based and it's very minimal.
    Anyway, good luck.

    Hey thanks for that
Gosh it's a relief to hear someone got a chance with them with a BM PS.
I don't mind the IT part of the course, I think the use of IT and the busienss side of it is well integrated and it'll prove to be useful in the future anyways.

Good Luck to you too at the interview, fingers cross for an offer.

I only have four choices down for my uni choices, and I'm quite sure that I want to put down UCL as my fifth. It's a bit tight before the deadline and I only want to apply if there's a very good chance I'll get in. Obviously everyone wants that but I was thinking of having it as an insurance choice since it doesn't need STEP.

So I would be applying for maths. Does anyone have any advice about specific things they look for in a maths applicant?

And people who did get offers for maths, it'd be really helpful if you could post/message me your A/AS results.

I'm in the same position as you although I have put it down as my fifth. They ask for your module grades and I think they do place a bit of influence on them.

Either California, New York or Toronto. Caltech sounds incredible! But Columbia is awesome too despite the cost of living in New York.

For subjects which require an open day/interview: is it likely that they'd see ALL batches of applicants before giving decisions to people? Or would they have a set quota for each group instead?

haha congrats for the offer as well. noo haven't yet, they are taking ages.
I don't think they've given out one offer for comp sci except for a few international students. I ~think~ my interview went well, but argggh the wait is excruciating! is ucl ur firm?

Indeed they are! I had a long hard think about it, but I really feel ucl is much more suited to me, more diversity and socialising methinks
Whilst imperial might be seen as a better choice for comp sci, i wouldnt want to take myself out of my comfort zone too much, and also you cant go to imperial and then to somewhere like caltech or columbia in the degree. so if i manage to get ucl and one of those I think its as good or better

YEHH IT IS thats why im so excited about it! if your interview went well then im sure you will be expecting an offer soon! they do take quite a long time. i was told i would hear from them in 2 weeks and i heard from them a bit after so dont worry! in relation to your other post (sorry to butt in) but i think columbia would be great! new york is such a lovely city! caltech seems awesome too!

soz . my friend is also applying to medicine at UCL and she still hasnt heard from them. but i think of it this way, medicine is medicine so i dont think it really matters where you go! just as long as you get into a course somewhere gives you the cause to celebrate! good luck with it all! and i hate the whole BMAT and UKCAT testing. it actually pisses me off. you have been wanting to do something all your life and been working hard towards your goal yet one little exam determines whether you are capable? high grades and determination already proves that. you dont need another exam on top of it. i hope they ban these in the future.

    sorry for the rant lol.

Just talking to some biomed applicants to UCL made me doubt my chances. I guess no one knows what they're looking for b'cos my friend was rejected with higher grades, yet I have not been! No, I havn't heard anything yet. I guess this month is when the decisions will be rollin in! AHHH

I think they're doing it like King's/Bristol...waiting until they receive a certain number of applications...rejecting those who, in their minds, have no chance and giving offers to those who they like, regardless of other applicants. The rest of applicants in that batch are compared with the next batch and so on...
