i just recieved a letter from ucl stating

"I am writing to inform you that the College has recieved your UCAS application and after carefully considering it, I am pleased to tell you that I have recommended to the Faculty Tutor that you are offered a place in the Department of Chemical Engineering. In line with the college policy, the actual details of the offer listing any conditions attached will be sent by the Engineering Faculty Office and you should recieve that in about a month time.

Please note that this is just an informal letter written to let you know what is happening at this stage of your application. The Faculty Tutor's Office will continue to process your application and will update the status of your application on UCAS track as soon as they are able to."

At the end of the letter it also says
"May i wish you good luck with any future exams and I hope to welcome you to UCL in Spetember 2011"

The problem is my ucas track has not changed for UCL n so i am a bit confused? Have you guys got any ideas?

You will get recommended for an offer, but it will take a while to update in the track as you don't officially have one yet.

Maynn I could be sitting next to you guys during classes next year. Profound.

As I said, it was merely a speculation. Owh Check out Singapore-Cambridge A-levels if the typical standard of A-levels upsets you

    Someone help me out?

'...we would like to invite you to an Open day. It is our policy to invite all those applicants we are considering (and who do not live very far away) and we do not usually make offers to applicants until after they have attended... During the afternoon, we will:
    - discuss the organisation of the degree course
    - admissions procedures
    - talk to staff and students
    - participate in a short seminar with department staff...'

Does that mean I have an offer or is it an interview or...? Trés confused lyk. Any help would be appriciated
I'm pretty sure this means you have an interview of some sort, if you had an offer it would say so on your UCAS profile,
    Hope all goes well!

    Cheers!

I was just a bit confused because one of my mates had an open day for Economics and she was like 'basically, you have the offer but they wait to see whether you turn up to make it official'.

    Greetings, potential applicants!

It may be early in the application process but I thought we'd get this up and running!

I, for one, am very anxious about applying and it'd be great to talk to other applicants to UCL! So, you guys know the drill:

    Username:
    Course:
Planned Entry: (either 2011 or 2012, if applying for deferred entry)

    I'll start!

    Username: Ecstatic Muse
    Course: Scandinavian Studies/History of Art
    Planned Entry: Fall 2011

So, post away, everyone! I'll start making a list once we get up and running. :yep:

Rejected for Philosophy (V500) today! :bricks:
Never mind... I was expecting it. They said it was because of the competition - more simply, they said my grades weren't as good as everyone else's (This is true! Though they did match up to the typical offer, so I thought I'd give it a go anyway).
It is frustrating in the sense that they have interviews but don't make use of them properly; they only give them out to people who are highly likely to get places... surely they should ask for essays, since it's such a competitive course... For all they know, my grades aren't as good 'cause I had my head in the Encyclopaedia of Philosophy when I was sixteen, rather than in my Food Tech textbook This is something they will now never know....
Good luck to all those still waiting! (passive aggressiveness only partly intended due to present resentment; the luck-wishing is genuine)

at least i know i wasn't the only one, makes it seem slightly better. I'm just annoyed i didn't even get an interview, to have a chance to show them how much i love philosophy and how i am good at it....they said my application wasn't as strong as others- but i got 100% in Philosophy and Religion at AS and got over 90% in my other AS's.... oh well.
