Do people normally send thank you e-mails or whatever, or just sit and wait for the response from the employer?

I had an interview on Friday, they said they'd be in touch early next week. So should I just wait or will they be expecting some kind of thank you letter from me?

I haven't sent them in the past, because normally I thank them on the day.

Yes, always email them and thank them for taking the time out of their busy schedule to interview you. Always a good thing to do. Never hurts.

Bit late now being Tuesday, it would seem like an after thought...
