Is it just me or is clubbing and just getting blind drunk a really pointless way of making friends and getting to know people?

I sometimes feel the preasure of having to go out as that is what everyone is doing but I prefer making friends and socialising a quiet and different way.

Anyone in Hallam or live around feel the same?

I'm not into clubbing, there should be outtings/gatherings for people who think the same - it's getting kinda depressing reading about all the people who are out having a laugh

I don't like clubbing, i'd rather have a picnic in the park and read books whilst enjoying the cool fresh air and the smell of grass.

I love clubbing, it seems more people hate it than love it on here though.

Clubs aren't my favourite places, I prefer bars but I am more than happy to go to clubs if I have friends who want to go clubbing!

I dont like going out clubbing either...I do go sometimes when all of my friends do but I'm not a massive fan of doing so. Freshers Week has just made me realise how much I really don't like that sort of thing!

I do! I've just started at Sheffield. I've learnt to tolerate it but I'd really rather spend time in a different way. There's quite a nice society here which does social events during the say which aren't centred around alcohol.

its a shame how most students just want to party all the time, I don't like clubbing and I'm sick and tired of people trying to force me to go clubbing
