    Sometimes they give things random names.
    I'm pretty sure some trashy store or other has/had a range (yes, an entire range!) of clothes called "Sophie". I'm also pretty sure it was for girls of about 12.

    I don't know why shoes are given names but I know quite a lot are. Dune always name their shoes, I know that much.
