I believe that incest is socially and religiously unacceptable? isn't it?

Guys, what do you think?

Down's has nothing to do with incest.. unless one/both of the parents had it, it wouldn't matter. It's just a random event of nature, not influenced in whether both parents share the same gene pool or not.

The only reason it's frowned upon is because brothers&sisters are often carriers of rare diseases which they will never actually develop- however if both the egg&sperm from each carries that specific chromosome the child is much more likely to develop any genetic disorders from the parents.

Well, in terms of religion i.e Abrahamic, it is bad. But if you're an atheist, then anything goes.

The Daily Mail. I ignored all my brain's pleas of "don't click on the link" and read the article anyway, and it reminded me why I hate that paper so much.

Hence the 'or some such', since I wasn't entirely sure. But thanks for the enlightenment. :gthumb:

Well, it could be worse, they could have known they were brother asnd sister and then start a relationship, not the other way around, i guess when they were in love and they had a kid and then found out then they didnt want to seperate because they didnt want to break their hearts

Not really. Many people think it is wrong even if the couple decide never to have children. It's a moral issue, obviously.

This is really messed up

They found out that they were related after they had their first child so this is a bit different to all out incest but still, it's soo wrong.

I doubt it will matter though, I imagine incestuous relationships won't be illegal in maybe 20 years or so, maybe less.

"And in a further twist, the couple, who discovered they were siblings after they conceived their first child, are expecting another baby."

They didn't know they were siblings. So what if they are? They should be able to marry eachother still. They did not know when they went for a baby.

They shouldn't be having the second baby. There is too big a risk of abnormalities. They can have sex, but no babies.
