sleeping with someone who is not going to speak to me again, and occasionally leaving a lovely present upon my persons.....sti

The Duke of Edinburgh award expedition was epic, even though we got up at 5 in the morning for a 13 mile trek geting bitten to death by midges
trying to find wits so wrong wi that

an anyway, of course its gonna be boring for you. your interests contrast with it, interests that should be reserved for weekends or occassion. freshers is predominantly getting drunk in clubs, sleepin with people and doing stupid **** with stupid people youll never see again.

you say you like to ride your bike and have a pint after it. freshers is almost the same... except you have more pints and you ride someone rather than a bike.

I ******* hate these stupid threads, I don't like peas but I don't start **** threads about it on here. Everyone's different, and no-one's better than anyone else for liking what they like.

I am not saying that anyones better than anyone else etc
The whole point of this thread was to get it off my chest, in hope that other people will be able to let rip about how they feel about freshers. If its stupid why comment simples:yes:

I understand how you feel, and ignore the mongs taking the piss, it's standard on here I'm afraid. It makes me so angry that there are so many freshers in this position because of the ignorance of different tastes and lack of variety. It's not hard to try and make it more all- encompassing, as the party universities attract a lot of international students.
all it is is getting drunk not everyones cup of tea

Find people who have similar interests. There will be plenty of them around, just look at TSR to see how many!

But also, try and still socialise even if the activity/place is not your cup of tea, since then when everything dies down people's true interests show more and it'll be fun

Yeah I was sympathising towards people in your position - I like to drink and be silly but it's the way clubbers do it that bores me senseless, what's wrong with the pub?? I meant that they should make much more non clubbing events for people who prefer other activities.

To me the thought of getting drunk being fun is not ''FUN''
    Socialise but don't drink?
Don't go to the main nightclubs, find somewhere thats not going to be as busy as the main even starring DJ Whoeverhe'scalled that's bound to be busy.

    (Original post by RAPSTER)
oH and not to mention the amount of people that sleep around
Yeah, don't generalise all us freshers to be like this
We don't all get pished and have sex with random strangers. You can have a good time like everybody else without having to do these things

Note; I will be getting pished

My idea of fun is 30 mile+ bike ride/Mountain walk then a nice meal and a pint in a nice pub with or without music......Anything like this during freshers big fat NO!
Sounds perfect, but just enjoy freshers, it'll all be over very quickly and you can enjoy yourself, just make sure you meet plenty of people so it wont be a tedious 3+ years

My freshers (last year) wasn't THAT amazing events wise. I didn't drink at all at that point. I went to a stand up comedy night and a hypnotist show thing and they were both really good and enjoyable. But also went to 'freshers bash' a big thing with all sorts (mainly like a club night but also fairground rides and stuff). It was ok but I left really early because it wasn't my thing at all. I did meet a friend there though, we both arrived too early and got chatting.

The point I'm trying to make is, I prefer pubs and bars and games and chatting and stuff to clubbing etc, (although do go to club nights and get drunk SOMEtimes now), but it went all good for me! You just have to find people who like the same and also suggest things you might like to do.
