Hey, sorry to bother everyone but I was hoping you could help answer some questions I have regarding History at degree.

Just a list of questions so if anyone could answer any it would be greatly apprecicated.

How much reading is required in History? I know it's a lot but does it completely take over your life? Is it a book a week and 9-5 in the library?

Or can you largely do it when not in lectures (a few hours a day?)

Do you enjoy History? How many essays a week? Is it fun? Is it social (both in terms of field trips, knowing your class-mates and allowing you time to go out and 'rave'?

Whats it like in the archives? Fun? Boring?

Could you basically only do options on political/conflict history or areas that interst you?

Any practical elements or all in classroom/library?

    Good points/bad points.

Thanks for any help, will be greatly appreciated

I'll answer for you in a few weeks as I'm about to start a degree in Ancient History and History on Saturday.

Hah thanks, I look forward to your reply
Such a pickle choosing between two subjects with virtually the same pros and cons
