A spinner has the numbers 1 to 4 on it.
The Probability of spinning a number 4 is 0.1
The probability of spinning a number 1 is 0.6
The probability of spinning a number 2 is the same as the probability of spinning a number 3. Calculate the probability of spinning a number 3. Can some1 show me the working out and the answer plz? :eek:

p(4) = 0.1
p(1) = 0.6

p(2 or 3) = p(any) - p(1) - p(4) = 1 - 0.1 - 0.6 = 0.3

p(2) + p(3) = 0.3
p(2) = p(3)

2p(2) = 0.3
p(2) = 0.15

p(3) = 0.15

here is a question i don't understand and it's gonna be on a test tomorrow!!

A newspaper printed this information about the world's population.

If the world was a village of 100 people, 6 people would have 59% of the total wealth.The other 94 people would have the rest.

On average how many times as wealthy as one of the other 94 people would one of these 6 people be?

PLZ HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

side length of square = x
area = x²

side length when increased = x * 1.1 = 1.1x

area = side length * side length = (1.1x)² = 1.21x²

so a 21% increase.

b)

length = x
width = y
area = xy

when increased...

length = x * 1.2 = 1.2x
width = y * 0.8 = 0.8y
area = 0.8y * 1.2x = 0.96xy

so a 4% decrease.

total time in week = x + x + x + x + 2x + 2x + 2x = 10x = 26 hours

x = 2.6 hours = 2 hours and 0.6 *60 mins = 2hrs 36min.

(if both previous valuea are used to 3sf the answer is 22.5 as way up ^ there. But with the real values it comes out more like 23)
