1. My brain's becoming increasingly dysfunctional... somebody help me out please!!!

I've got to integrate 1/[x(x-1)^1/2]

Well you need a substitution, and want to simplify the square root, so "x-1 = something" would seem a reasonable start, and since you don't want to have to deal with a square root in the denominator make your something:

3. Maybe I overcomplicated it or something...i dunno, but I did it using x=sec^2u (and according to wolfram alpha I did get the right answer :P)

Given the answer, that seems a perfectly reasonable substitution as well.

Thank you!
Just wondering, did you happen to end up finding the integral of 2 du?
Because I do and so I get 2U and when I substitute back in x = sec^2u, I don't get Wolfram Alpha's answer!!!

yer that's exactly what I did. I know, the answer isn't in the same form, but I'm pretty sure they're equivalent. (I put in some values of x and they both outputted the same result).
7. Sometimes that happens with wolfram alpha that's why I always use it as a last resort and check the method they used
