If I wanted to use aqa for one exam and ocr for another, would I have to phone both ocr and aqa or could I register for both exams with one exam board?

    Thanks in advance.

You'll need to organise any exams through a registered exam centre, like a school, college or community learning centre.

As gower said, you can only register for exams through a school/college etc that is a centre for those exams.

Most schools/colleges in UK will be centres for all of the main awarding bodies. However, each chooses which awarding body specification they will teach for each subject and will only organise those exams that their regular students require. Mine for example uses Edexcel for Maths and OCR for History. So potentially they would accept a private candidate for Edexcel Maths or OCR History (A), but not OCR Maths.

There are a few private centres that will accept you for almost anything with any awarding body.

AFAIK you can sit any exam from any board in any centre. I think centres are registered with Ofqual rather than exam boards.
