I think they should. Their clothing that is...obviously I would try to avoid the face etc. Using fur for clothing is sickening and ought to be illegal. People who wear fur are scum and they need to get the message that wearing fur clothing is NOT acceptable.

I bet most Tory wives wear fur in private. I wouldn't be surprised if Cameron and Osborne have fox fur slippers, such is the scum and inhumane nature of Tories.

Is it any different from wearing leather? When I was in Brean Sands on the weekend, they had an American country and western dress up event for two weeks, lots of people in American Indian clothing and old American country clothing. Like Cowboys and Indians basically.

The market had lots of stalls selling the clothing, with real fur cothes they would wear - for sale etc, real leather boots and clothes. Plenty of people were buying the real stuff, it so they could look like cowboys or Indians.

That's not my point. If you have such an issue against fur, surely you must have some sort of grievance against leather? Or anything other animal-based products? Are you a vegetarian? Vegan?

And if you are all these things, then why just throw paint on people wearing fur? Go the whole hog and try to change all of those things if you have an issue with and react against; petitions, protests, debates.

Don't just write an angry thread on an online student community shouting about throwing paint on people who wear fur because it seems like either a massive double standard by not highlighting the other related issues, or you are just trying to provoke a reaction.

You don't need fur to keep warm. What an absurdly simplistic, almost child-like, argument. There are synthetic materials that are warmer.
How do you know synthetic materials are warmer? have you stood in -30 and tried both? ....No. Some are colder. Also, it's much more the norm in some countries.

Fur from rare and endangered animals is just wrong to me, along with killing something soely for its fur, because that's just wasteful. I wouldn't mid wearing wild rabbit fur as long as they were killed humanely, because there's a lot of them in the countryside, and becomming a problem near where I live.
I also know someone who had their dead pet rabbit made into a hat. It is so fluffy and confy it's unbelieveable =)

No. I wholly agree with the premise that the way these animals are killed is morally abhorrent, but I don't think you can target the buyer, and if you do you have to do the same for those who wear leather. There's a huge leather export industry in Asia and the cows are often slaughtered in shocking ways.

I see that you are an Israeli supporting American. Am I to take it that you are also a Christian?

You do know that Jesus was an anti-capitalist communist, don't you? And that according to your Bible, you and all of your capitalist friends are going to hell?
Why do you have a problem with capitalism?

I am in the process of becoming a vegetarian.

As for other animal products, then it would depend on how they were extracted. Fur is particularly cruel in the way the animals are killed, compared to say, cotton, which is much less cruel.

Why do you have a problem with capitalism?
    Where to begin!

I don't have a problem with all forms of capitalism. But I do have a problem with it being the dominant force in society, reason being....it is based on greed and selfishness. It tends to exploit people and it screws people over.

Mass capitalism is something that should be used in moderation and should be heavily regulated.

So what? Are non-fur hats not available?

    Nobody needs to wear fur.
    Inuits?
Just because you object to something doesn't give you the right to go around and assault people. If you don't like it, don't buy it. I know loads of vegetarians but none of them go around throwing paint at people who eat meat.

Cotton is a natural fiber, it comes from the cotton PLANT.

In the process of becoming a vegetarian? Either you are one, or you aren't. This is basically a skirting-around-the-issue way of saying no, you're prepared to rage about fur but you haven't yet bothered to give up meat.

Also, cotton is 'much less cruel'? Cotton comes from plants, not animals. It's not cruel at all.

Only if you are willing to do the same to people that wear leather, eat meat etc.

    Don't be so childish.
