I've gotten with girls at clubs and parties and stuff, but its usually been short term and never been outside those functions.

But now there's this girl I fancy and I don't know what to do because I've never been on a date date. I'm at university so asking "do you wanna go for a movie and dinner" seems kind of cliche but is that the right move? From a girl's point of view, at university what would you expect for a first date? Or what other ideas are there?

Note that I dont have any courses with her (still don't know how exactly to approach her) so I can't say do you wanna study late, or what ever.

Cinema on a first date is rubbish. You can't talk to her. Just go for a drink or something.

Yeah ask her to go for a drink with you! Then if you get on well, you can arrange another 'get together' where you can have lunch/dinner etc. I think a drink is a good first date because (from a girls POV) you don't feel under pressure as you would in say, a romantic restuarant or something, plus the alcohol is great for making the conversation flowww :top:
