# C3 Trig question watch

1. solve in the interval 0 < (theta) < 360

sec^2 (theta) + tan (theta) = 3

Right so I've changed the Sec^2 to 1+tan^2(theta)

...

so

tan^2 (theta) + tan (theta) = 2 and now I'm stuck and don't know what to do next any help would be great thanks
2. Let tan(t) = x then solve the quadratic in x.
3. make one side equal to 0 then treat it as a normal quadratic
4. Let tanx = t.

t^2 + t - 2 = 0

Factorise.

Put it back as tanx.

Find solutions within range.
