I am using a Parker fountain pen that has a re-usable cartridge. The way it works is that you can twist the cartridge at the bottom thus sucking in (or pushing out) air and so you can suck in ink from an ink pot.

I used black once, but now that I am trying to get to blue, when I write it comes out as a mix. I rinsed the nib through water and that helped a bit but it's still somewhat tarnished by the black.

Tl;drShould I just write until it runs out and then rinse the cartridge as well (as the nib) and see if that helps. Do you people have any idea on how to clean it?

    Thanks!

When I change ink cartridges on my Parker I just wait. It usually turns to the right colour after 10 or so minutes of writing. No need to rinse out nib.

Yeah, rinse the cartridge as well. (Or get a second cartridge so you can use one for black and one for blue.)

    Thanks for the replies guys!

I might actually just do get a second one for black ink, that's a clever idea.
