You would need to ask Cardiff to release you from your current offer. Then you'd have to reapply to them. They probably won't be annoyed if you ask them now and are polite in the email. But whether you get another offer from them depends on what you're doing in your gap year - are you working etc?
But if you do receive an unconditional offer from Lboro you can't pick that as your firm and still have an insurance. You don't need one, so they won't let you.
