NO GCSE's...do i bother applying??? watch

    i have no GCSEs, i didnt even take them
    i was stupid, immature and dropped out of school
    im now 19 and studying an access to HE course it does have GCSE equivalents in maths and english
    i'd like to study social policy at uni but is it even worth me applying as i didnt take my GCSEs i know im quite intelligent and hope to do well on this course
    does anyone know how unis are with GCSEs, is it worth me applying or am i wasting my time doing this course??

    What would be the point in an "Access to HE" course if it didn't give you access to HE? If anything they were created for people in similar circumstances. You might as well apply, especially if the Access course has GCSE equivalents in it.

    thank you i'm just really worried cuz getting in to uni is so competitive these days and after reading some of the threads it seems they really look closely at GCSEs

    Carry on with your access course and work hard on it. Also write a smashing PS. You'll do fine.


    very often the uni people are more interested in your potential rather than your actual grades, so just make sure you smash any interview and go for it!

    You will have the equivalent of two GCSEs. I had only 3, and I got offers from various places.

    As someone said, you are exactly the kind of person the access courses are made for.
