# What do they mean by 'corresponding instants' watch

1. Corresponding means: on either side?

Instants means: point?

Q: Calculate the velocity at the corresponding instants.
2. I think it simply means at the times according to the question.

e.g. A particle P, of mass 4kg, is projected directly and horizontally towards a particle Q, at rest with mass 2kg. Instantly after the collision, Q moves in the same direction with speed 2ms^-1. The collision is perfectly elastic.

Calculate the velocity of P at the corresponding instants of the collision.

i.e., calculate the velocity of P instantly before and after the collision.

Maybe.
3. Could it beend and middle? As its a simple harmonic motion question.

Q an object moving with simple harmonic motion has an amplitude of 0.02m and a frequency of 20Hz. Calculate the acceleration at the middle and at the end of the oscillation [Which i'v done].. and the velocities at the corresponding instants.

4. I thnk I get it... while I was writing the question. It means at the middle and end.. as stated in the question. :P/.
