I am a fresher and everyone else seems to be in a "group". I don't have a group but have become close friends with one of my housemates. We are both shy but I feel that if we had a "group of friends" we would be able to take part in social activities.

P.S. Both of us are yet to meet our classmates. Others have done so through FB but neither of us have an account or want to.

    Any GOOD advice is welcome!

Both of you go join in with a group or go out together on your own.

A couple of girls who were best flatmates joined our sesh and now they're in our group.

To be honest alot of people still think they are at highschool when they move to uni. Particularly with girls, they will often form *****y cliques quite quickly and as soon as they have found a couple of friends they will exclude everyone else. Those people are losers, stay away. You will meet lots of people in your tutorials. Make sure you go to them early on as unfortunately people again form groups. It can still be hard to meet people at uni though. In my tutorials I dont have much in common with people. You will often find in lectures alot of people sit in groups. Just look for someone on their own and go introduce yourself and sit next to them. Hope that helps!
