    Fermi's paradox (or the 'Great Silence') is a well documented argument against the development of spacefaring intelligent life, and at least a possibilty (hence my use of the word 'might' ie. I wasn't actually making a definite conclusion, just bringing up an interesting point). I actually do believe that we will have found some sign of ETs by that point.
