Ok, so I have a few questions I'm not sure about, can anyone help?

1) Suggest 2 advantages to the phytoplankton of being concentrated just below the sea surface.
- i put it enables them to absorb sunlight easily for photosynthesis, but cannt think of another one

2) What does gCm-2 stand for when expressing primary productivity. In full.

1) higher oxygen concentration.
2) No idea. I thought GCM2 was some sort of gene?

- good position to capture sunlight
- wins competition with plants growing on the sea bed e.g. seaweed

2) grams of carbon per metre squared
