I think same-gender universities would be a good idea. There are same-sex schools, so why not same-sex unis? Its a good way of maintaining modesty, chastity and focusing on work.
What's good about that? Religion can't be your answer.

Are you going to make sure you have a job that's segregated too?
Yes. There are careers that are dominated by women such as midwifery, primary teaching etc.

I actually agree with OP. It couldn't actually hurt; if someone were to open one, I wouldn't say anything to stop them. However, I don't know how many would want to go there :p:

So you're not going to bother learning to socialise with the opposite sex ever?

I think that's a silly idea. University is a place where you work but it's also a place where you acquire social skills and I think familiarising yourself with both genders is a good idea.

Not in the casual way that everyone else does.

Thankyou for your understanding. I think there are many people who would feel more comfortable studying in a place with their own gender. So this would be an opportunity for those who want the option to go to a same-sex uni to get an education and be comfortable.

    ......but life isn't single sex.

I don't see the point. You might as well make workplaces single sex to increase efficiency and reduce the risks of any hanky panky.

How strange, tbh I think by the age you are when going to university it would be a little unnecessary, and not at all a popular idea, to introduce same sex universities
Hey. This is off topic, but I just saw in your sig that you were looking for places that do BBB offers for BSc Psychology. My friend got BBB and has just started BSc Psychology at Swansea. I don't know if they'll have changed it for 2011 entry, but it's worth a look. It's nice by the beach

...I'm confused - can you expand on this a little?

If you can't handle yourself around someone of the opposite sex without going off the rails, losing all modesty and failing your course, then basically you fail at life and obviously haven't grown up enough to go to university. And if you do, you're old enough to make your own mistakes. It's a pretty ridiculous concept.
