So I've been set a couple of questions for my homework. It's a summation question that I'm stuck on because I've never done a question that doesn't have an integer starting value

Anyone care to guide me? I don't need full solutions as of yet, but any little help would be appreciated.

Are you sure you've copied it out right? Because \displaystyle \sum_{r-1}^n (6r-1)(4r-1) doesn't really make any sense. If it's supposed to be "r=1" rather than "r-1" on the bottom, then you need to expand the brackets and then sum as you would normally.

What is the lower value? '(r-1)' does not make sense.

    It must be r = 1.

Since I'm doing FM now, maybe I could get involved with the simultaneous answers thing that you guys have going on :awesome:

Though my knowledge would be limited to strictly the basics of FP1 :p:
