    Ooh, can I join?

I've just started the couch-to-5k thingy, I'm a week in and feeling pretty good. There's a distinct possibility that I might sign up for a half marathon in march but I'm going to wait until I can actually run for a decent period of time before I start thinking about that.

I refuse to calorie count but I have a pretty decent diet, lots of veg, a bit of fish, cheese and bad carbs and minimal meat. I'm bad with meal routines though, and I probably have too much salt in my diet. And I use a lot of olive oil when cooking. Also I'd like to switch my bad carbs for good carbs (I have a lot of white rice and white pasta that I haven't got the strength to turn into brown)- having said that I get a lot of fibre from vegetables so it's not urgent.

So I'm running 3 times a week at the minute but once I get used to it I'm going to incorporate some swimming/gym sessions/yoga in on the other days.

Go for it, You could go for a fitness blog or just post them in here. From what i gather it's like a communal fitness blog type thing.

How much have you run so far?

And other questions, i forgot what the couch to 5k plan is like, isn't that the one that starts with running and walking mixed together...

Yeah, it alternates walking and running and increases the amount of running each week. Which is awesome for me because I can barely run for a minute or two before my lungs give way. The runs are like 20-30 mins 3 x a week and at the moment it's not even half running- but I'm feeling optimistic for the days when I do a proper run.

So you're doing a triathalon? That's awesome, my brother did the hyde park one earlier this year. What's different about a sprint one, how long is the run?

The plan is to sign up for one next summer. Spend the next 3 months or so building up my general fitness before properly training early next year.

The sprint triathalon is a shorter version, it's 1 mile swim, 15 mile cycle, 5k run.

I'm planning on doing a 5k run first, i got a big motorbike race end of november, will sign up for a 5k just after that for early next year.

I haven't been running in like 4 weeks, been cycling/spinning(spinning is insane cycling inside in a group) recently. Good for general fitness but not good for specific running/running/cycling training. I'm gonna nail the cycling part though.

Cooked a blinding meal today. Did organic beef in a barbecue marinade and a rice dish that consisted of basmati rice, paprika, coriander, 4 carrots, 1 onion, 5 cloves of garlic. 3 peppers (red, yellow and grean), 8 sticks of celery, 100 grammes of chopped hazelnuts, a tin of lentils, a large tin of sweetcorn, a tin of garden peas and seasoning. Was well nice, filled up 6 people and enough of the rice left over for lunch tomorrow.

Agreed!! Mcdonalds is not even food! It wasn't even nice.

My waist measurements have now gone down from 26 inches to nearly 25.5 inches. I know it's not much. But it's something and it makes me happy I am making progress even if it is just a little bit Everything else seems to be the same though which sucks!
