Gym today - the usual workout... No swim though. Didn't feel like throwing up during my intervals today so after my next interval session I'm upping the speed.

Cardio tomorrow - rowing machine, bike, x-trainer, running (only a mille for starters ) and swimming (a mile)..

    Corrected.
If you knew the rate of calories per lb of fat, how could you not work out how much it would be?

    Roughly 4.3oz btw

Depends how much they are eating and their BMR.

But that's a large amount and if you're eating the same as your BMR then you'd lose 1.5/3.5 kg of fat every day you burnt 1500 cal.

    so 3/7ths of a kg.

And 3kg in a week if they could maintain that exercise without eating more than their BMR, but that's just the maths of it and it wouldn't actually work that well tbh...

I just think it would be very unsustainable to burn off 1500 calories a day every day while only eating the same as your BMR....

For me that would be eating like 1700 calories worth of food and then doing a gigantic workout on top of that, EVERYDAY...

I reckon it's too hard to do and there would probably be other effects that the maths doesn't tell us...

I think it could work if the person ate 1200 cal which is less than the BMR (1800 cal)

    Woo, another one.

So, yeah, here is a thread for anyone who wants to lose weight, get fit, get healthier and/or gain muscle and anything I've forgotten to mention. We're here to motivate each other, give constructive criticism and be supportive.

I'm going to set a goal of New Year's 2011, yes I know that Christmas and New Years are real hard times for weight, but let's see it as trying to look hotter for the next year. The ending date will be Monday, the 10th of January 2011 - I'm not going to end it in the first week because I know a few of us will have alcohol and party snacks to work off that week.

    Some tips to share:
    - Although this will vary, it's generally not a good idea to eat under 1200 calories a day. If you're very short and very inactive, you may be able to get away with it, but an average-sized person who is somewhat inactive isn't going to.
    - Do not extreme diet. Fad diets may take off the pounds for a very short time, but you will gain them back unless you intend to barely eat/eat odd things for your entire life.
    - For best results, male or female, use a mixture of weight-lifting and cardio (do heavy cardio on different days to weight-lifting).
    - Do not cut out all fats. All fats are not made the same, and you need good fats to keep your body functioning. A good snack source for good fats is seeds and nuts, these are high calorie, though, so eat about a handful at a time.
    - If you're going to be exercising, carbs will help you. Do not fear the carbs.
    - Up your protein intake, especially if you're doing weights.
    - Don't skip meals, your body likes it when you eat regularly. You can stick to your three meals a day, although a lot of people prefer the option of six small meals instead.
    - If you're going to be exercising, make sure you drink plenty of water. Dehydration is not fun.
    - Treats are not a total no-no as long as you aren't eating them all the time. The occasional drink or chocolate bar won't hinder your progress as long as you stick to it.

Reason: I just have that 'fat' feeling. You know the one, I know I'm not obese by any means, but in pictures I just look dumpy and chubby. I don't eat alot - I am prone to putting on weight easily because of my genes. Thanks a lot mum and dad. Doesn't help that I'm short, or that all of my friends are 5'6" or higher and all size 8-10. That gets me down sooo bad. Plus I just noticed I have some cellulite on the back of my legs (DISGUSTING) and I've always hated my belly. Aaand I've got a show coming up soon and I want to look my best. I want to be a size 10 for Uni!!!!!!!!!

Working them out tires me out the most! It's understandable why they neglect them but if they neglect them so much that they end up looking like Johnny Bravo .

I don't own any short shorts that are short enough to show off my legs...

In other news, just got back from the gym, was doing interval training on the treadmill.

    Ran 5.7k in 39 minutes.

Slow pace but that included warm up and the slow bits of my intervals training and cool down...

I was trying to see how high i could get my heart rate and was running quicker than i did in my last treadmill interval training session from a month or so ago but my heart rate was lower the whole time. I'm just too fit now.

Will be off cycling at the weekend as well as a swim.

Simples, go to a rugby BBQ, down half a bowl of rugby punch, then find spandex green pants and when the 'Ultimate Warrior' is mentioned start to rock out with your co*k near enough out lol

    Yum yum.
Why thank you, they are actually skinny in real life just as Sorani
