What's the funding situation starting at Sixth form at 19? watch

    • Thread Starter

I finished sixth form and didn't do that well, only acheiving 180 UCAS points. Now, I'm undecided whether or not to go back into a Sixth Form and give it another go, or do a BTEC at college.

One sixth form I contacted never said funding was a problem and said they would take me. Another I contacted (same area) said they were unsure, but that funding might be problem, and that they would look into it and get back to me.

So, can anyone give me any info on what the funding situation is with starting at a Sixth Form at 19?

It'll depend on the school but if you went to college it's more than likely that you'd have to pay and unfortuantely since you'd be doing a Level 3 course again you wouldn't be elligible for the Adult Learning Grant which is £30 per week.
