tells you how HYMS use the UKCAT, you should be way more worried about your reference than UKCAT

    I know right!

Btw, if you got an offer from HYMS, why didn't you accept?

I still want to go to HYMS, unfortunately my grades were below the offer! (ABB as opposed to the AAB asked for)

Correct on BSMS! Also Keele, UEA and Peninsula (with LJMU for pharmacy as my reserve)

BSMS rejected me last year, pre-interview, I'm hoping for better luck this year. I've changed my personal statement style to better suit what they seem to want, a lot of medicine application seems to be luck of the draw on what is liked and what is not, though!

How long is a typical interview? and are you at the Hull or York campus?

    Thanks for answering the questions
There is a set number of questions and it usually lasts about 20mins(i think).

703, Prinkles' 670 would give one less point than me on their pre-interview marking -which is out of 60-

Make up your own mind how much difference it would make.
    That actually brightened my day.

All I have to do now is to major suck-up to my teachers for those golden predicted grades....

As a SSC, yes, as part of the curriculum, no.

Sounds like a pretty reasonable way of assessing applicants.

Wow, this thread is terse! I'll break it up by saying i'm applying to HYMS this year, really hope I get an interview! Does anyone know when they normally respond?
Also, I'd prefer Hull to York... controversy...

I like you, simply for that attempt at controversy.
I have no idea about the answer to your question, but :P

    hey
gonna apply to HYMS (re-applicant) got ukcat of 690... i read on their admissions policy though for 2010 entry that they look at your VR score and if it's lower than 420 than they won't consider your app. My VR score was 490, do you think it's gonna go higher this year- the cut off mark for VR that is!
    Is it risky applying here|?

More than a chance. If you have a rock solid PS then go for it! remember at pre interview stage UKCAT only stands for 10/50 of the score that they give your application.

I'm definitely applying here this year.. UCAS has been sent and started the waiting process.. I'm getting impatient already :/
Also has anyone gotten conformation e-mails etc yet? sent my form off 22/9/10 and still haven't heard anything yet apart from the UCAS letter :/
