    Hello everyone.
I moved my things into my halls on Monday but went home again to spend some tme with my boyfriend, friends and family before i moved up on Friday, people have been moving in all week I think but since I've got here everyone seems to know everyone and no-one in my corridor really seems my type of friend. There are a lot of international students in my corridor and theyre lovely but i think because they have the unfamiliarity in common they're all sticking together in each others rooms, i thought people would have their doors propped open and stuff like that but its really hard to get a chance to chat.

I dont live far from university and as i have a long term boyfriend at home I do plan to go home a few days a week so its not vital that I make best friends but I'd like to talk to people and maybe go out with them? I just don't know what to do. I'm not an extremely confident person so I don't really want to just knock on doors etc.

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you

in the beginning of term STAY IN HALLS. dont go home all the time. because while you're spending time with your bf, everyone else is in halls getting to know each other. so stick around for the first couple of weeks. you said yourself that your not extremely confident, so stay in your flat and leave your room door open and let people see that you're alive and welcome them in, start a conversation or whatever. if you're away then you're not even giving people the opportunity to talk to you.
