Investment Banking from Birmingham

Hi i aim to do an Economics degree and at AS i got AAAB with A in maths and economics. i want to work in an investment bank however my mom is ill and im the only person that can look after her so i have to stay in birmingham. So i want to know my chances of becoming an investment banker if i get a good economics degree from birmingham (disregarding internships etc, i just want to know if an economics degree from birmingham is viewed favourably by investment banks.)

you won't make it into IB with as much "ease" as those who come from oxbridge/LSE/Warwick/UCL but you're application won't get binned straight away either

Without a previous IB internship your chances are extremely slim. If it's any consolation I have attended an event at a BB bank and there was a 2 Birmingham students so I don't think you'd get the bin at most banks. However you would need to work extremely hard and get into things that will get you noticed.
