but they are not long words which impress them. i don't like 3 letter words.
Put it this way - long words on their own don't impress anyone - except with the idea that the applicant is illiterate.

Simple is always much better than fancy - especially when the fancy words get misused, which happens more often than you might suppose

I said, every word has to earn its place: 'the' and 'it' do earn their places if without them the sentence doesn't make sense and/or is grammatically incorrect.

Luckyyyyyy! that's like 20 words or so!
I will start off by making a list of the most important things, which include work experience and stuff related to your subject. You can cut down on your extra curricular stuff, instead you can ask you teachers to mention them in your reference.

Mine only got to about half the limit. I just went, that'll do, bolted on 3 lines of conclusion and sent it off. What are you applying for? Unless your extra curricular stuff is directly relevant, only briefly mention it. "I play piano", is enough, and does not need to mention your current grade, influences, the make of your piano or the contact details of your tutor.

    cross out every third character.

I had this problem in a big way. I ended up relegating my work experience from a whole paragraph on my PS to a mention in my reference. anything that doesn't directly show a motive for you doing the course/ illustrate a specific area of interest within the course has to go. ECs, unless you can show something course related with them, should go first.

at first, I thought you said it was 2000 characters long, I couldn't understand how you thought that was long lmao
but I was going to ask, is the ps helpers a good thing? I mean, I don't want to sound really stupid, but what would be stopping a helper from going on and selling your statement, so when you submit it it comes up as plaguism?

    what would they gain?
anyway, i can attest to the quality of the service. The analysis mine was given was longer than the actual statement.

Read the FAQ at the top of the PS Help Forum - this will give you all the information you need. All PS Helpers are in a position where they have no need of anyone else's PS
