Would I be able to teach Biology if I applied for a 50:50 degree or a Major in Biology and then do a PGCE? Or do you need a single degree in Biology?

Your degree needs to be a minimum of 50% the subject you want to teach.

You would be able to - I have a friend whose sister teaches Biology at GCSE & Psychology at A-level with a BA jt. in Bio & Pyshcology.

I once had a maths teacher who had a degree in physics, aslong as its at least 50% biology, you'll be fine.

If you want to be a GCSE Biology teacher remember you'll have to teach chemistry and physics too
