I am a final year student, pursuing a degree in Finance, Accouting and Management (FAM). Upon graduation, I'd like to pursue further studies, preferably a PHD; however I am a little unsure about the field I would like to major in. I've always been interested in Politics, however with an undergraduate degree in FAM, is it possible to actually move to a doctorate in fields that would make me eligible for governmental positions?

It is unlikely that you would be allowed to continue straight onto doctoral research from an undergraduate degree unless you were special. As a result, you would have to do a masters of some description where you could specialise, for example, in an area of politics that interests you. With regards to governmental positions, I am not exactly sure what you mean. Most graduate programmes (and politicians themselves, whatever level they may be at) usually only require an undergraduate degree; you could probably count the number of politicians with masters degrees and doctorates on one hand.
