our fire alarms are heat sensitive in the kitchen and corridors, and smoke sensitive in our rooms. six out of our seven alarms in the last 4 weeks have been pranks at 4am, and the one time there was a real fire there was no alarm...despite having a drill 3hrs previously!

I was NOT impressed this morning. My first lecture was at 3pm.Was woken up rudely at 9am-ish by the sodding fire drill in the middle of the nicest sleep I ever had.

And then I get downstairs and the woman has the audacity to say,"Well you would have been burnt and dead by now...."

Well f**k you missy but I've just woken up and don't want to hear that and I don't give a sh*t because it is NINE AM AND FREEZING COLD AND YOU'RE DOING A FRIGGING FIRE DRILL.

She then said that it was a crap fire drill and we would all get letters(oh letters!I am SO SO SCARED)....if they do another one when I am sleeping I will cry.

25 past 2......so not amused....and I got dirty looks from the security guard when I eventually made it out. Not my fault I couldn't find clothes cos my stupid light is broken!!! People have started coming out with bare feet...not good!

Had our first one the other day at about 6am. It was such a hideous experience I'm trying to blank it out :p:

One at 8pm where we were out for 20 minutes, then one at 3am where we were out for two hours.

Then the next night another building's one went off so I had one of my friends round for 2 hours too. I didn't get much sleep this week

Our kitchens have heat sensors so there is no excuse for bloody idiots to set the alarm off. Unfortunatly there are still some thick bastards around that decide to cook in their rooms etc  We've had 2 alarms so far (not too bad times either) - if I was in charge of a uni and someone decided to set them off as a prank, they'd soon be chucked out !!

We never had any fire alarms when i was in halls last yr  my friend did tho, at 2am, then they had to wait for some guy to fix it, they were kept out until 7am!

That's harsh!

The first fire alarm I had ever had in my entire life went off at 2 am. The fire alarm goes off regularly in school now, and that's why I seem to have hearing problems...

We've just had the first "real" fire alarm of the year - not bad going, considering we've been here a month. Unfortunately, the fire itself wasn't real, just something someone was cooking which gave off too many fumes

We're now all freezing on my floor because the security guys had to open the windows , and told us not to close them for half-an-hour

We had one this morning at 1am, it must have been a prank cos we were not told the source. Anyway, it was too early for the drunkards from the Union to have started it (Flirt doesn't finish till 2)

We actually had a fire on Friday, then two more false alarms on Saturday. Meh.

Depending on what block in Penbryn (and possibly with others, I know it's the case with Trefloyne) you are in, by the door is the fire alarm box thingy. It has a screen on it which tells you where the alarm was triggered (ie block/floor/room). That's how we knew that almost every alarm that went off in my first year was courtesy of Block 5 (and mostly the same floor).

The nice people at my university thought it would be fun to give us a fire drill at 6.30 am this morning.. We weren't best pleased!

Urgh, fire alarms at stupid times... I have made a vow that when I go to uni, I am going to put my clothes next to my bed every night, just in case
