    Hey guys,

    stuck on a question in my higher maths homework,

    would anybody be able to help, not give me the answer but tell me what i need to do to arrive at the answer ?

    5a) The diagram shows a graph of the form y=bX ( "b" to the power of "x").
    i) Find the value of b.

    its the graph at the bottom of the page . point (3,8).

    look where the x coordinate is zero....

    I can't see the graph, but if its of the form y=b^x, just plot a graph of logy and xlogb, and the gradient will tell you the value of x. From there it should be easy to work out b

    would you guys say this is the right answer ..

    all my working ;

    Point (3,8) lies on the curve, so -

    y=bx
    8=b3
    b3=8
    b= "cube root of" 8
    b=2?
