Yesterday I went to the cinema with this girl I've liked for a long time. There was no physical contact and when I got home I was really pissed off that nothing happened. I really don't know where I stand and whether she thinks that we are just friends of not. We have been out to a few other places before but I just didn't know whether yesterday was a date or not. Do you think I should tell her that I like her and how should I tell her this? I am 17.

You should sex her. Then when you tell her how you feel she'll be less likely to laugh at you.

Yes, of course... Why are You afraid to express what You feel? There is no need to be ashamed... And if she dislikes You, then, why to spend more time with her?

If she has been friends with you for a long time then I would personally suggest that you do not make things awkward...unless you truly believes she feels the same.

Unless you and this girl are close friends, I think she would have interpreted going to the cinema alone as a date, or the thought would at least have crossed her mind. Make a move next time you see her? Did you try to move things along in that respect?

There's a chance she was equally annoyed nothing happened, and is waiting for some encouragement. On that ground I'd say go for it... but then again, I know I'd be too wimpy to do it!
