Hey All!

Well as you can tell studying pharamacy. I'm still a 1st yr but i was wondering if anyone knew where i could get any practice questions and stuff!

just so i can get a head start and stuff yer no- keep on top!

thanks

i am really stuck with the questions that were given to us.......got given booklets full of questons....hell, my brain is hurting
The yellow book published by the Pharmaceutical Press is supposed to be quite useful - http://www.pharmpress.com/shop/product_display.asp?mscssid=876DAG12XCL59L6DEJ0LNH30T4PJ8R60&SiteLanguage=ENG&CurrencyID=&PageType=cat&productid=0853696039&productname=Introduction+to+Pharmaceutical+Calculations

I had it but didn't really use it because we had a calculations course at uni and I have A Level maths anyway so the pharmacy stuff seemed pretty simple.

I know! I don't understand anything that lecturer says, her accent's so strong and she's really quiet, and I don't get the maths either :frown:

Opiache - I'm at Bath too. Are you referring to a certain lecturer whose name begins with P by any chance???

I find her lectures confusing too - and the emails dont help much either!!!

Haha, yep, that's the one. I can understand in English about 25% of what she says, and mathematically about 25% of that. So basically, I'm getting around 6% of the lecture!
Where're you living?

I spoke to a 2nd year pharmacist in a pub last night. Apparently we have some very, er, entertaining practicals to look forward to with her! Also, she gets worse as the year(s) go on.

The classic had to be the workshop where we just sat there while the demonstrators talked to about 20 people. A really good reason to get up for 9.15!!

Quantock (westwood) - what about you?

Oh no, I can't cope with practicals with her as well as the stupid lectures and workshops :frown: Yeah, that was so useless! Still, thank goodness that we don't have any 8.15s this semester!
I'm in Marlborough. Chances are I've probably seen or talked to you...my name's Louise if that rings any bells?

Hmm - doesn't ring any bells - if thats your picture in your profile I'll know who to look out for. With 150 other students on the coutse I dont know everyone yet!!! My name's Dan.

The chinese "helper" guy is my resident tutor, so I might end up emailing him when I need to know something. He can't be any worse than "her". Have you done that question that we were meant to do for her yet - and if so what did you get as the final answer? There are three pharmacists in Quantock 5 and I think we've all got different answers to it.

What exactly were we meant to do? I've only done the graph that we started in the workshop, and Question 5 (another graph). Were we meant to do workshop 3?

I didn't do 3 because we haven't done that yet but I did do workshop 4...

I might have a go at that tomorrow then - spent most of today recovering from being thrown down some steps last night! Seem to have a relatively busy day tomorrow (i think that 4 hours is our busiest day so far!) Are you in group D with PJM tomorrow?

Not sure that I can really describe last night very effectively on a forum. Basically we were all pretty drunk on bucket juice (mix lots of drinks in a bucket and drink it by the pint) and decided to go into town. On the way down to the bus stop another guy tried to jump down 5 steps, taking me with him but not warning me. Rather painful!

You have a 2hr workshop don't you tomorrow - so 4hrs work like me! I've just been printing that stuff off for MDT - the new copy of it that we were told about that in the email has the same problem as the original :frown:

Do you have MSN? As we seem to be the only people posting in this topic it might be easier to use MSN to talk!!

I've added you to mine. I assume that it will have sent you a message saying that I've added you, but if it doesnt, mine is "[email protected]"

However, I'm off to bed now anyway (in an attempt to recover from last night and hopefully not wake up feeling as if i've been thrown down a flight of stairs!) Might cya in the lecture tomorrow. You should recognise me from the fact that I'll probably be limping, and i have a large graze on my cheek!!!

oh ouch the questions - even with the answers its difficult. I'm hoping one day it might suddenly make sense (although I doubt that). Chances are I've seen you guys. I live in Solsbury SD5.6 by the way.

Ramaya,

Welcome to the club for people confused by those questions (and of course the lecturer who set them!)

I probably should be doing those questions now rather than sitting here looking at TSR - as I keep saying to myself "i'll do them wednesday afternoon". Still - its early in the afternoon!!
