How does Belfast compare with other UK cities in terms of nightlife/shopping/entertainment/things to do?

As the title asks....

Just a broad question about Belfast really, seeing how Belfast compares with other Uk cities

It's a capital city and it's got all the trimmings as such. Night life is great, especially if you like good pubs, with plenty of clubs around too to suit pretty much every music preference. Plenty of bands playing the city and if you're going to queens I think the student union is pretty well regarded.

Spoilt for choice on nights out, there are plenty of big clubs, bars big and small with plenty of different types of music. For shopping there's Victoria Square which is the big shopping centre in Belfast with the big names, River Island, Topshop, House of Fraser etc, then a pile more shops in the city centre, loads of great restaurants around that area as well. There's also Dundonald for bowling, ice skating and crazy golf [i think].
Plenty of great bands go to the Odessey arena and Queen's student's union and there's some kind of entertainment on most night in the SU as well.
