Nose Jobs

Has anyone hear had this done? What were your experiences.

I've got a big nose and my nice uncle is going to pay for my to have this done for Christmas (he say's it for my 21st birthday, which was in May - he likes to drink!). I don't know much about the procedure or how much you can have done so any advice appreciated.

Oh, and can anyone recommend anywhere in the North East to have this done?

Thanks.

He wasn't actually talking to you - I made an unhelpful comment which I then deleted but he must have replied just before I deleted it. Anyway, good luck with the nose job! I am sure there's lots of info online. There is some info here as well as some links further down the page. It's actually called Rhinoplasty apparently - never knew that.

Just like the common cold is a rhinovirus. Rhino is the prefix for nose related things.
how much is it costing him?

Won't know until after consultation (I think). He thinks it's about 5K which after looking around a bit I think is about right (maybe a bit high). He paid for my sister to have a boob job last year - he's a bit weird with this sort of thing, but I don't mind. :p:

No, I want ears and teeth too

Has noone got any experiences to shame? I thought this was slightly more common than it appears.

Any chance of before and after photos?
how old do you actualy have to be to have that done?

I dont know how old ya gotta be, but I'm 18. Will try get an after foto, when its fully recovered. Right now in the first week, ya look dreadful, quite scary actually, but no pain at all, just look worse than ya feel.
My friend had a nose job for her eighteenth - it does look straighter now, but not that much different tbh! I think it's just all about the self confidence.

When I broke my nose after I had been attacked. You basically get putto sleep then they basically hammer ur nose in2 shape and when you wake up its huggge! and stingie and u have to eat soft food for a while. but you gt to be carefull cuz sometimes they can like damage ur nose and make u have breathing problems.

I had it done in August. I'm so pleased I had it done, its made my life better and Ive got that bit more confidence I wanted.

I was uber scared though and I thought it would be so painful but it wasnt at all. When I woke up from the op it just felt a bit weird and I was annoyed that I had to breathe through my mouth and couldnt lie flat on my back :p: Not even my bruises were too bad. The nurses etc were so lovely and the hospital was beautiful because it was all done private obviously so that made the whole process much easier for me. I got the thing taken off ten days later. I didnt leave the house in that time lol. I looked pretty scary!! But I was still recovering from the anesthetic and was tired a lot of that time anyway. Also found I suffered from quite a few headaches but they eased off after a couple of months.

The most painful part of the op was probably having the plaster cast taken off my face - the sting of her pulling the plaster tape stuff off was unbelievable!!

I paid about £3500 for my op and it was worth every penny
