Just get her to dress up as a schoolgirl. Unless she is a schoolgirl, in which case I hope you're not like, 28.

Ok this week my gf has had braces fitted, which she has to wear for 1.5 yrs, i've been supportive of her telling her it'll be fine. But today is the first day I'll of seen her with them on, i'm a bit worried that its gonna be a turn off? :frown:

just make sure she knows to use her lip to cover her teeth and you will be fine.

That *is* what you really wanted to ask right?

hahaha You're funny...and pervy.

As for Anon: What kind of shallow reason is that? How can braces be a turn-off? Or get clear bands? I mean, c'mon, British people only have 2 teeth to brace anyway.

Glad to see the old American stereotypes of Brits are dieing out

dude, if you're 24 i wouldnt expect you to be worrying about whether you're gf has braces or not, surely there are more important things than that? ok, most girls/women of 24 dont have braces but so what, if you wanna be with her then it really shouldnt matter...

Ah yes...dying out like the roots of your teeth.

Edit: I actually had braces when I was 12-13. Hurt like a b*tch when they tightened them...

Maybe she can get invisaliners? I think that's what they're called. They're retainers that you wear but are clear that work like braces do.

And you wouldn't be at all concerned about a chunk of metal being clamped inside your other halfs gob?

Reply 10

If thats your attitude, then I'd be worried if you really liked her.
Sorry if thats harsh, but if you really liked her, you wouldn't need to ask that...

I think a lot of you guys are being a bit naive and idealistic. Yeah, personalities important, but so is the physical aspect. If something happens to alter your partners physical appearence, you'll have to reassess if you still find them attractive - obviously breaking a nails not a big deal, but a severe burn victim will look a lot different; everything in between is a scale, and all this chap is asking is how everyone would feel about it.

Get off your high horses.

It is a bit idealistic, to expect everyone to look like supermodels. It's not the way the world works.

Sadly that is actually a legitimate question in this day and age :frown:

Reply 14

I would say that as long as you have been with her for at least a few months then it shouldn't be a problem. There is a gradual change in what people find attractive in a person, starts with mostly looks then becomes mostly personality. So you should be fine if thats the case, if not then paper bag over her head jobs a good'un

Well said Punkskamonkey, if you are turned off your girlfriend because of something as trivial as braces, then maybe you need to assess why you are going out with her.

Im not saying it's wrong to find them unattractive, but braces are such a small, trivial thing, which arent part of a person at all; to be put off that person because of them is shallow. It's a bit like being put off someone because you dont like the necklace they are wearing

Reply 16

Just think how beautiful her teeth will be after she's finished with them....

Reply 17

I would find it a little strange, braces don't look that bad in my opinion but at 24 it's quite rare.

So true!

Lived both sides of the pond, Brits have ****ed up teeth!

Just remember she probably really hates them, and is worried about your reaction, and any possible 'incidents' with them. so be nice and kind, and 'look beyond the metal', and if you do have a problem with them, keep it to yourself.
