well its not too uncommon, what do you mean by depressed exactly? is there anything in particular you are depressed about? do you just not want to do anything?

Reply 2

Yeah it's common, I get depressed all the time, but hopefully it's just something that's temporary. Hope it's not anything serious.

Reply 3

what makes you think you're depressed? are you having a tough time in anything in particular? spill!

Reply 4

nah you're not alone if it helps...

Life sucks. Live with it. Or die. Possibly have a . But not with milk.

possible the worst thing is there is no reason, nothing to say is to blame, there is just nothing i can do as in effect there is nothing actually wrong but ake up and the only think i probably want to do is be asleep, hate day times and stuff. just a really weird feeling and dont know why

If it persists and gets bad, see a doctor. But don't necessarily dive right into the anti-depressants. Try natural things - things like sufficient vitamins and other supplements, diet, exercise can improve your mood. If you do a search there's countless sites that give information on these things.

is it normal for a 19yo guy to be depressed ? this last week i have felt so god dam depressed and its getting to me now :frown:

Perfectly normal. It maybe just temporary though.

Or it may just be your sad days and not depression.

Well at 19 there's lots to be depressed about, like keeping up with your mortgage payments, looking after your kids, working full time in a rubbish job and lets not forget having no chance to further your prospects.

A lot of people on here are depressed. For me, its a difficult time. I want to carve out a successful career, a family and end up with a house and property to be proud of. Right now I do not even have a boy friend. Since my university years I feel no belonging. The relationship with parents changes, but I have no family of my own either.

Don't ask, this is just me. I would see your doctor because mine did help

you always get depressed if you have nothing to do... i mean, try to set out goals and live a happy life.. smiling even if theres nothing to smile about

I've been depressed for years :frown: but I went to go see the doctor - since then, I've been seeing a counsellor and for a reasonable proportion of that time, been on meds. It's helped me get my life back on track and gave me the emotional energy to be able to tackle my problems.

When you're next on MSN, I'll have a chat with you about it dude :hugs:

Meds are the last resort - I hated the thought of them originally - I'd always said that I wouldn't go on them... but I got to the stage where I was on the verge of committing suicide, I decided that I had no option. They aren't for everyone, but they're an option.

Take care dude :hugs: I'm worried about you :frown:

Try to find something to keep you entertained, a sport, or hobbie- model making, writing, reading, anything really. My mum has been depressed there's some really good natural remedies for it!

Of course it might be a late hormone- probably testosterone, this can also make you more agressive, try going to your GP if your worried, cause he probably can help you better than us!

its quite common for boys to suffer from depression. when i was 11/12 (Starting 2ndary school) i was quite heavily depressed (Especially for a kid that age). And i have gone through stages and still continue to go through them. Its just become a part of life for me.

Depression is horrid, i had it very mildly and if you've had it for 5 years then it must be terrible! I feel so sorry for you cause I can't possibly understand how you feel. I wish I could help- anything I can do?

Reply 18

lol, i dont seek pity for me. Thats why i never start my own 'im depressed' thread, i simpley share my experiences with others to try and help them out.

Its not that bad when its been going for so long, as i said, it comes and goes... some days i can be on top of the world and the very next day im just sitting alone and lonely.
